La Perla was founded in Bologna in 1954 by the hands of Ada Masotti, nicknamed "Golden Scissors" for the tailoring skill with which she created her first lingerie garments, kept in elegant velvet cases as if they were jewels. Over time, the brand has become synonymous with Italian luxury, dressing icons such as Claudia Schiffer, Cher, and Sharon Stone.
