The Carol model was created in the 80s as an exclusive design promoted by top model and actress Carol Alt, who appeared on over 500 magazine covers including Vogue, Elle, and Sports Illustrated. Persol's partnership with Alt marked the first time a brand style became so closely associated with a single person, even surpassing the bond between the Persol 714 and Steve McQueen.
